Lisa K. Whitfield

Lisa’s practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, including coverage analysis, automobile liability, premises liability, malicious prosecution, and false arrest, though she has experience in many other areas of civil litigation. She has handled cases involving contract issues in a variety of contexts, such as the validity of indemnity agreements, restrictive covenants, non-solicitation agreements in employment contracts and lease agreements. Lisa has defended clients in complex product liability actions, and she is experienced in cases involving toxic mold, erosion and surface water run-off. Lisa has represented local governments, police officers and law enforcement agencies in Federal and State Courts in cases involving alleged violations of civil rights, governmental and individual immunity and State law claims. Lisa has handled appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Lisa enjoys snow skiing, hiking and climbing, and she is an avid Florida State football fan. She has also been actively involved in a variety of causes, including The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The American Cancer Society and The March of Dimes.

Member: Atlanta Bar Association; American Bar Association; State Bar of Georgia, Defense Research Institute. Member, University of Georgia Journal of Intellectual Property Law. Judge, 2007 AMTA South Atlantic Regional Mock Trial Tournament.
